Francia Raísa Confirms 6-Year Silence with Selena Gomez

Francia Raísa recently revealed a surprising fact. She confessed that she hadn’t spoken to Selena Gomez for six years. The star of “How I Met Your Father” opened up about her turbulent friendship with the founder of Rare Beauty. This was after they made amends during the summer.

“People were so invested in our friendship, and it still amazes me,” she said. This was in an interview with USA Today that was published on a Thursday.

She added, “I don’t know why things happened the way they did. I remember being in St. Tropez in June and I kept talking about her. We hadn’t spoken much in six years. Especially the last year, we didn’t speak at all.”

It was only in July that Gomez posted a tribute to Raísa on Instagram for her 35th birthday. That’s when they decided it was time to reunite.

Francia Raísa, 35, and Selena Gomez, 31, made headlines in August. They were seen together for the first time at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, California. That night, they agreed they had “no beef, just salsa.”

“We’ve never really had beef with each other,” Raísa continued. “Nothing happened, and if you ask either of us, we don’t know what happened but we needed that time apart. Then when you come back together, you’re better people. She and I are still getting to know each other again.”

Their time apart raised eyebrows, especially after Raísa donated a kidney to Gomez in 2017. Feud rumors between the actresses escalated when the “Wizards of Waverly Place” star referred to her close pal Taylor Swift as her “only friend in the industry” during a Rolling Stone interview in November 2022.

At the time, Raísa reportedly responded to the comment highlighted on an Instagram post, writing, “Interesting.” She also unfollowed the singer on Instagram. Gomez then took to TikTok to say, “Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know.”

Meanwhile, Raísa explained she didn’t regret giving a kidney to the “Lose You to Love Me” songstress despite their fallout. “The relationship has always been there,” she told US Weekly. “There was just a tiff.”

Raísa later went on to profit from the rift as she promoted her line of La Victoria salsas. She posed in “No Beef, Just Salsa” T-shirts with Gomez to announce the launch.
