General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) may not be acting alone. GH fans know Cyrus has his own ruthless team backing him up, but could he have a secret partner, too? Someone who’d have a motive to go after Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and cause Port Charles chaos? It’s reasonable since Cyrus has alluded to his powerful connections.
There’s also some GH buzz out there about another major villain returning – one besides Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers), who’s reportedly set to appear for February sweeps. If another General Hospital baddie is indeed coming back, there’s one that makes perfect sense as Cyrus’ ally.
Could Cassandra Pierce (Jessica Tuck) be alive and plotting her revenge along with Cyrus? GH viewers will recall that Cassandra was a drug trafficker and international criminal like him.
Cassandra wanted to work with Sonny once upon a time and got turned down. Cyrus just tried to negotiate a deal and also got rejected. Cassandra could’ve easily been trying to work another angle.
Plus, Cassandra and Sonny had a tense faceoff after she went after Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattson), Michael Corinthos’ (Chad Duell) girlfriend. Cassandra was even on Sonny’s island!
There are reasons to think Cassandra would want to target Sonny like this, especially since Cyrus had other motives for his Port Charles transfer.
It seems Cyrus was set up by Marcus Taggert (Real Andrews), Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) and Bob Massicotte, who died of an overdose that Taggert and Jordan deemed foul play.
Cyrus went to prison for a crime he didn’t commit and now appears to want payback. In other words, that’s probably Cyrus’ focus. Cassandra may have been the one who urged him to drag Sonny into this.
During Sonny and Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) recent conversation about Cyrus, they couldn’t help but wonder why Cyrus is coming after Sonny now.
Perhaps it’s because Cassandra – who was presumed dead in a boat explosion orchestrated by Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) – needed time to recover. She might have sustained some injuries or at least decided to lay low for just a bit.
Now Cassandra may think everyone’s guard is down. Nobody’s expecting her to pop up alive – especially not when it looks like Cyrus is running to show. It’d be the perfect strategy for Cassandra to strike.
Cassandra also has unfinished business with Valentin and Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma). They both tried to kill her, so Cassandra has every reason to want revenge on them as well.
In other words, Cassandra’s return would be timely and useful. She makes sense in terms of the storylines that are going on. There’s one final clue to consider and it’s a recent General Hospital promo. The show put out a video, which featured mostly popular characters and many heartfelt moments.
Cassandra was included at the start of that promo – and honestly, she seemed a tad out of place in it. You’d be hard-pressed to find people who just adored Cassandra and desperately wanted to see her in this video.
Cassandra was a decent villain and that’s it. Her inclusion in the video could be a hint that Cassandra’s time on GH isn’t over just yet.
