The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) may become Diane Jenkins’ (Susan Walters) new BFF. Will Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) exes form a dangerous friendship?
Y&R viewers know Sally has struggled to find friends in Genoa City – and that’s mostly due to her own behavior.
It’s no secret that Sally has done some scheming since she came to town.
Sally managed to bond with Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) through the fashion platform, but whatever semblance of a friendship they had fizzled thanks to Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) return.
Chloe still cares about Sally, but she’s loyal to Chelsea – and that means she can’t really hang out with Sally anymore.
Sally also tried to befriend Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), who admitted Sally seemed lonely.
Alas, Y&R doesn’t use Tessa enough to make that friendship happen, so Sally’s just floating along ready for a true pal to enter her life.
Of course, fans have also heard Diane talk about how she’s been alone for so long.
Like Sally, Diane is someone who feels she’s learned from her mistakes and just wants a fresh start.
In reality, Diane is still a schemer at her core – and the same goes for Sally.
These two have a ton of things in common, so it’s easy to see how a friendship might form here.
Since Sally casually dated Jack for a while, she can even commiserate with Diane about their shared former flame.
Sally and Diane also have a mutual nemesis in Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), so there’s the potential for a risky alliance.
Diane and Sally could be pretty dangerous if they put their heads together!
Sally might be the one person in town who won’t judge Diane for her past and will completely understand her problems.
A disguised Diane will move in The Grand Phoenix during the week of April 11-15, so it won’t be long until she officially hits GC.
From there, Diane may ultimately meet and befriend Sally.
We know Diane will be involved in both Abbott family drama and Newman clan chaos, so Sally could land on the Newman end of things since she’s involved with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
Sally might find herself in a position where she becomes Diane’s defender, so we’ll pass along updates as other news comes in.
